About the Author
Dugald Steer has written many books for children including the best-selling DRAGONOLOGY and its companion, THE DRAGONOLOGY HANDBOOK, as well as the forthcoming WIZARDOLOGY. For ten years he was an editor at Templar Publishing in England, but he now devotes himself full-time to writing. Other books he has written include, THE NIGHT TIGER, JUST ONE MORE STORY, and PICTURE THIS . . . (with Alison Jay). For the moment, though, it seems more "ologies" are in the offing.Nghiem Ta, Artistic Direction: Nghiem Ta works as a designer and paper-engineer at Templar where she has overseen the creation of the best-selling DRAGONOLOGY and EGYPTOLOGY, as well as the forthcoming WIZARDOLOGY. Prior to working with Templar, she spent four years with pop-up maestro Ron van der Meer. Her current projects include more books with "ology" in the title.Ian Andrew, Artist: Ian Andrew created the black and white pencil illustrations for EGYPTOLOGY and THE EGYPTOLOGY HANDBOOK. It's a "children's" book but I'm 22 and I read this last year and I enjoyed it so much. I bought the big Egyptology book when I was 10 and I actually like the handbooks a little more than the main ologys just because they're presented in a cleaner fashion; the main Ology books are in the format of journals so their fonts are supposed to be handwritten and it's much easier to read the clean fonts presented in the handbooks. I really did learn a lot from this book even as a young adult, so I'd recommend this even to adults trying to learn about ancient Egypt. The handbooks vs the big Ology books: I think the handbooks actually have a lot more information and still have fun things in the back of the book, too. I still own a Lot of the big ones and I recommend them both!
Great item for kids with an interest in Ancient Egypt. My kids got a lot of use out of this, and I learned a couple things myself. Nice pictures and interactive features - this book fosters a lot of discussion at the dinner table.
The "ology" books are so fun. My kids are 4,5, and 6 and they all enjoy reading them. This one has fun passages and letters in it. It kept my 4 year olds attention for over an hour that we looked at it. My kids called it a "field journal about mummies" we all enjoyed it. The cover and binding are thick and well constructed. It makes a great keepsake book or gift.
More like a childrens scrapbook. But still pretty cute and informative. Excellent quality. More sketches/drawings that actual photos. Info is pretty general and brief.
Perfect companion to the Egyptology series.

This was for my 12 year old son who is into Egyptology. He loves it. I has some great information and the graphics are awesome. Great buy.
